Closing my store temporarily on March 21 was like a blow to my stomach. Disbelief, fear, anxiety and insecurity were some of the emotions I was feeling then. So like any difficult struggle, one has to rely on one's loved ones to find solutions to one's problems. Applying for grants, getting free advice and the launching of our Keep 62 Year Old Business -- Teddy Shoes Alive ( all due to my youngest son's creative idea ), http://gf.me/u/xsfbd6 all took place. The short term squeeze for survival has been alleviated. Now comes our long term strategies and our ability to remain relevant to our customers and the community.
Our website, www.teddyshoes.com has become one of our main focuses. The creation of Free delivery in the Boston area, dance bundle discounts, promotion of our Hot Deals, email capture, use of Facebook Marketplace, LetGo and Localisity as well as the sale of Gift Card credits through FanBank are becoming important components of our new ecommerce campaign. We also will be using more email marketing to connect with our customers. In time we hope to use social media ( Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter ) to help spread our message more effectivelyFor now, I remain dedicated to preserving the proud tradition of Teddy Shoes, Inc. Even though the store is physically closed, so much is going on behind the scenes to make our shop vital to the community when it is allowed to welcome in new and old customers.Call me at 617-354-2987 or email me at teddyshoes ( at ) aol.com with any thoughts, suggestions or feedback!Steve AdelsonProud Owner of Teddy Shoes, Inc.
